Another continent, more theme parks, more roller coasters, and more freedom? Alvey and his crew have gone and done it again with their newest brainchild called European Extravaganza! This new coaster DVD, number 6 in the collection, is packed with more great shots, funny moments, and more freedom in parks than America would ever allow.
This season Alvey and his gang take off to Europe to cover 26 parks, including some of the biggest and baddest coasters that Europe has to offer, such as the famous Expedition Ge-force. But that's not all, as it also highlights those lesser-known parks and coasters as well. Each park segment is cleverly edited like only Theme Park Review knows how: Crazy scenes, amazing angles, and silly pop music.
As we all know, American amusement laws and policies are very limiting. On this European adventure, we get an education on the ride policies in countries less strict than our own. Before watching this DVD, the phrase "Self Operated Ride," was not in my coaster vocabulary. After a glance at all of the fun and interesting rides Europe boasts, it really made me want to take a trip across the pond to check it out for myself. European humor is also in a league of its own, and sure enough, TPR captures this in each and every segment. And this is only disc 1!
Disc 2 includes Point-of-view (POV) and on-ride footage of more than 50 roller coasters and rides throughout Europe. These shots are very hard to find, yet TPR manages to give you a one of a kind look at each and every ride.
The final disc includes homemade amateur videos from the Theme Park Review 2nd annual video competition 2005. Each of these videos were made by contestants in parks or on rides of their choice. 19 Entries are included on this disc. If your video is not on this disc, the other entries will be included on Coaster Expedition Volume 7. Volume 7 will include an East Coast Coaster production made by our very own Brian Shinsec, who offers a view of Six Flags Marine World.
With over 3 hours of roller coaster shots, TPR antics, music that makes you want to get up and dance, and so much Europeanness, what more could you possibly ask for? I know. A ride on The Michael Jackson Coaster of course!
